This book consists of 15 theory chapters and 9 skills workshops which address all aspects of newborn care. Most participants take a year to complete the book.

Newborn Care was first published in 1992 and later revised in 1996, 2005 and again in 2012. By the end of 2009, a total of 19 000 copies of Newborn Care had been sold in South Africa.
